Choir

I LOVE to sing!

I adore it! I cannot go one whole day without singing something. Even if I have no voice, I am singing in my head! Music is a huge part of my life and I remember events by their "theme song" I have a song for everything and you will constantly hear me burst into a tune merely from someone saying a word that cues it.

When I was in college, I was in four different choirs: a show choir where I sang alto, a chorale choir where I sang 1 soprano, a community choir where I sang soprano, and church choir where I sang...whatever I felt like :) Since college though I went from four choirs to no choirs. It has been quite a change because I have been steadily in a choir since I was three years old. It was ok when I first moved to my new home because there was so much to explore and new things to discover. Then I met Sexy Husband and had the excitement of dating and marriage.

Now that we have settled into a wonderful life there is a glaring hole from the lack of music in my life. Cranking the stereo up just below bugging the neighbors and singing at the tops of my lungs only fills part of the hole. I need a choir.

I love my church but one downside is that it does not really have a choir. I will not go into full detail because I do not wish to de-edify the church but let's say for my purposes they really do not have a choir.

Recently I mentioned this want for a choir in front of my MIL and mentioned I might try her church's choir. Despite not being a singer herself, she immediately sprang into action and spoke to the music director next time she saw him. He said "Tell her to come on, I know she will love it" and so I decided to give it a try.

Tonight I went for the first time. It was wonderful! Everyone was super nice and made sure I felt welcome. The singing was great, though I can tell I am out of practice! It felt so good to be back singing. I am very excited about this and hope that I can continue going for this semester. I was even invited to a knitting class by one of the ladies! Maybe I will have some knitting about which to post!

Until next time...
