Good Friday

Remember this was not a pretty symbol to wear around your neck,
It was not a iron work piece for your wall or garden.
The cross was a sign of torture, humiliation, and death.
He came to die so that we might live.

Reflect that this was a day of mourning as our Christ was
beaten, mocked, tortured and slain.
He suffered great physical pain that is almost unfathomable to
we who are pampered in this day and age.
Worse though He suffered abandonment as God the Father
had to turn away from the ugliness of the world's sin that
covered his precious Son.

Rejoice that our Christ would defeat death and offer
the ultimate and perfect sacrifice.
He would ascend to heaven to sit at the right hand of God
and intercede on our behalf as High Priest.
