Music is a large part of my life. At times I have even gone as far to say, my Christian faith aside, music defines my life. I am constantly humming, singing, quoting lyrics or listening to music. In light of this aspect when it came to choosing music for the wedding it took me months!
Finally I had an epiphany and I figured out exactly what music to have and began gathering, coordinating, and cutting to make it flow exactly in the way I wanted. After getting it approved I was ecstatic because I knew it fit us perfect. So alas here is the music I used in the ceremony:
Seating of Mothers and Grandmothers
Canon in D ..................................................... Johann Pachelbel
The mothers and grandmothers are traditional types so a traditional song fit them.
Processional
Les Avions en Papier ........................................... Les Choristes
This is a song sung by a children’s chorus so it was light and pretty plus it fit my ring bearer and flower girl who were the last to come in before me.
Wedding Processional
The Throne Room ....................…………..….... John Williams
For those who don’t recognize this song it is from the very first original Star Wars (the good ones with Harrison Ford) When I got down to the front with my father and the music faded the pastor asked if Obi Won was there! It was great :)
Announcement of Marriage *(at the point when the pastor said “You may kiss the bride” a snippet of “Kiss the Girl” from The Little Mermaid played.)
Recessional
Toreador Song from Carmen ………………………. Georges Bizet
Nothing like an upbeat song to send people off to the reception and celebrate a marriage!
Stayed tuned for the next Adventures of an Impish Bride
